We're going to try something a little different for a trivia game. Peach has recorded short (2-3 seconds) clips of well known songs and made them into .wav files. We'll play a trivia game where Catwoman will play the wave and you name the song. Easy! When? On Monday Feb. 15 at 10:00 eastern time in #MarsMission.
Here's how it will work:
The files will be stored in a self-extracting file. You will download this file and simply double click on it to extract the files. No knowledge of 'unzipping' files is required.
You will come here before the game and download and extract the files onto your hard drive. I suggest saving to C:\Windows\Media. If you save the file to your desktop, do NOT double click on this file without moving it first, or you'll have 40 wave icons cluttering your desktop :-(
You will need Microsoft Chat 2.0 or greater to play this game. Put simply, if you can hear waves in chat now, then you are fine.
We will be using the honour system. I ask that you NOT listen to any of the wave files before the game. Also, please don't play any of them during the game (or before the game). Please let the host do it.
As far as the actual game goes, it will be no different than we do now, expect instead or seeing the question repeated every 10 seconds, you hear the wave repeated. You will have 30 seconds to answer, then I will give the answer. Scoring will be no different than any other game.
The file is ready for you to download now. It is called wavgame.exe. When you run this file, it will self-extract 41 waves to whatever directory you have it in. They are named wav001.wav through wav040.wav, as well as sample.wav. If you can hear sample.wav, from a chat room, then you are ready to play!
Click HERE to download the game file. If you are using Internet Explorer, RIGHT click and select 'Save Target As'. Then point to the directory where you want to save the waves. If you are unsure, then save them to c:\windows\media which is the default sound
location for Comic Chat.
